About the event

Cover crops are helping farms improve soil health, manage nutrients, and build resilience, but what processes are driving these changes in the field? In this webinar, farmers and researchers will walk through how cover crops support the soil's capacity to store carbon, what we know about their impact on nitrous oxide emissions, and how species selection and management decisions shape these outcomes. We’ll also explore the broader on-farm benefits that are motivating adoption across Canada.

The panel will include:

Dr. Angela Straathof, Research Impact Manager, Soils at Guelph, Ryan Barrett, Farmer and Research & Agronomy Specialist, PEI Potato Board, Derek Axten, Axten Farms, Minton, SK.

This discussion is driven by your questions, so please submit any questions when you register.

Please note:

- This webinar is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for farmers with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the cover cropping BMP category.
